About The Position

The Compliance-Rotational Intern rotates across Stifel’s Employee Activities, Branch Activities, and Surveillance teams, gaining exposure to compliance, supervision, risk management, and operational processes. The intern collaborates with experienced team members and contributes to assignments such as analyzing report data, supporting preparation for branch examinations, maintaining departmental records, and assisting with special projects. The intern also shadows team members, attends meetings, and learns how the teams work with others across the firm to identify, assess, and mitigate risk.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Pre-Law, or Finance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including confidence communicating with others.
• Ability to work collaboratively, approach assignments with an open mind, and think creatively when evaluating information.

• Interest in learning about the financial services industry, compliance, supervision, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze report information and compare data related to outside business activities.
• Assist with preliminary work for branch examinations, including gathering documents and information from CRD systems.
• Support testing activities, draft memos, shadow team members, and attend meetings with leadership.
• Assist with operational and administrative functions, including data entry, file maintenance, and records management.
• Contribute to special projects, including migrating departmental files and resources to SharePoint.
• Work alongside analysts to learn how the teams identify, assess, and mitigate risks while supporting the firm’s compliance and supervisory objectives.
• Assist with additional projects and daily responsibilities based on the needs of each rotation.
