About The Position

This position reports to the food services supervisor or designee. The intern will assist cooks and cook helpers in the preparation of student meals in compliance with government and management directives. This role involves performing clean-up and sanitation duties in food preparation, storage, and dish room areas to ensure adequate health standards. The intern will also provide an adequate supply of food and transfer ingredients to the cooking area as instructed. Additional duties include working at the student snack bar, cleaning the outside area, and other assigned duties in the Admin Building. The position requires reliability and a willingness to work evenings and some weekends.

Requirements

• Must be a completer and ready for work-based learning.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a student card.

Nice To Haves

• Must be a current Job Corps Center Student currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program.

Responsibilities

• Perform clean-up and sanitation duties in the food preparation, storage and dish room areas to ensure adequate health standards at all times.
• Provide adequate supply of food and transfer merchandise ingredients to cooking area as instructed by the cook or designee.
• Work at the student snack bar.
• Clean outside area.
• Perform other duties as assigned in the Admin Building.
