About The Position

This position reports to the food services supervisor or designee. The intern will assist cooks and cook helpers in the preparation of student meals in compliance with government and management directives. This role involves performing clean-up and sanitation duties in food preparation, storage, and dish room areas to ensure adequate health standards. The intern will also provide an adequate supply of food and transfer merchandise ingredients to the cooking area as instructed. Additional duties include working at the student snack bar, cleaning the outside area, and other assigned duties in the Admin Building. The position requires reliability, willingness to work evenings and some weekends, and the student must be in good standing with a privilege level of at least Silver and have been on Center for a minimum of 90 days.

Requirements

  • Must be a current Job Corps student.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be a completer and ready for work-based learning.
  • Must have a student card.
  • Must be reliable.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and some weekends.
  • Must be in good standing with a privilege level of at least Silver.
  • Must have been on Center for a minimum of 90 days.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program.
