About The Position

This position reports to the food services supervisor or designee. The intern will assist cooks and cook helpers in the preparation of student meals in compliance with government and management directives. This role involves performing clean-up and sanitation duties in food preparation, storage, and dish room areas to ensure health standards are met. The intern will also provide adequate supplies of food and transfer ingredients to the cooking area as instructed, and may assist with the student snack bar, cleaning outside areas, and other duties as assigned in the Admin Building.

Requirements

  • Must be a current Job Corps student.
  • Must be a completer and ready for work-based learning.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have their student card.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at the Job Corps Center.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clean-up and sanitation duties in the food preparation, storage and dish room areas to ensure adequate health standards at all times.
  • Provide adequate supply of food and transfer merchandise ingredients to cooking area as instructed by the cook or designee.
  • Assist with student snack bar operations.
  • Clean outside areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in the Admin Building.
