About The Position
Financial Aid is seeking a work-study-eligible student to tutor and work with students in grades K–4, individually and in small groups, in reading and math. The position starts in February and offers up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Exact hours will be determined based on the student’s schedule. The student must provide their own transportation to St. Joseph Catholic School, 132 S. Millwood, Wichita, Kansas. VIRTUS training is required and may be completed after hire. Pay is $8.25 per hour. There are 1–2 positions available.
Requirements
- Must be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time, with a minimum of 12 credit hours.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be work-study eligible.
- Must provide own transportation to St. Joseph Catholic School.
- VIRTUS training is required, but may be completed after hire.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Listen to students read.
- Assist students with comprehension activities and reaching projects.
- Tutor students in math.
- Assist teachers with preparing projects and materials.
