About The Position

This is an added duty contract position for a Student Council Advisor. The advisor will report to the Building Principal and serve as a liaison between coaches and the administration. Key responsibilities include communicating with participants, parents, and administrators, upholding a high code of conduct, following safety procedures, and adhering to NSBSD and specific activity policies. The advisor will be responsible for the annual review of the Coaches’ and the Parent and Student Handbooks, ensuring student welfare is paramount in decision-making, and completing mandatory trainings. Specific duties involve meeting with students to support their learning of running formal meetings, coordinating with the Principal on developing student projects, and submitting an Activity Report with photos. Compensation is per the negotiated agreement and may be prorated based on the fulfillment of responsibilities.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent required
Ability to pass a background Check

AK Driver's license preferred

Responsibilities

Communicate with participants, parents, and administrators.

Follow safety procedures.
Understand and adhere to the NSBSD and any specific activity policies and guidelines.
Responsible for the annual review of the Coaches’ and the Parent and Student Handbooks.
Ensure student welfare is paramount in decision-making.
Complete the Mandatory Trainings (Training Verification Check List Coaching and Activity Adviser Staff) on/or before the first contract day.
Meet with students and support student learning of running a formal meeting.
Coordinate with Principal on developing the eight (8) student projects.
Turn in Activity Report, attach photos (if any).
