About The Position

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state. Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets. As a federal Crown corporation, Trans Mountain continues to build on more than 70 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence through our crude oil pipeline system. With our expanded pipeline system now in place, Trans Mountain provides enhanced direct access for Canadian crude oil to world markets. The expansion realizes a world-class system for oil transport, developed to Canada’s high standards within one of the most stringent regulatory regimes in the world, creating long-term economic benefits, enhanced marine protection, enhanced safety and emergency management capabilities, and enhanced skilled-worker capacity building in communities and Indigenous groups. Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values driven individual to join our dynamic team as Environmental Advisor (Contract). In this position, you will play a key role in the coordination of environmental tasks and deliverables related to Canadian Energy Regulator (CER) and BC Environmental Assessment Office (BC EAO) Conditions as well as stakeholder and Provincial permit commitments for the Trans Mountain Environment team. The role includes liaising with internal Trans Mountain team members, third-party consultants, stakeholders and regulators to complete deliverables in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in environmental science or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience.
• Knowledge of petroleum pipeline systems would be a strong asset.
• Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team of project professionals, both internally and externally.
• Experience interacting with federal and provincial (Alberta/BC) pipeline regulators, stakeholders, First Nations, and environmental consultants.
• Practical skills in project coordination.
• A track record of delivering high‑quality work, managing competing priorities, and supporting key business processes or operational functions.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels across the organization.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
• Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Environment team in completing key regulatory deliverables, including CER and BC EAO conditions, stakeholder commitments, and provincial permit requirements, while assisting with Trans Mountain’s ongoing plan implementation.
• Complete Federal and Provincial Regulatory Reporting associated with CER, DFO and SARA condition requirements.
• Work closely with Environment, Regulatory, Lands and Compliance teams to support consistency and alignment in addressing environmental issues across the company.
• Confirm that consultant monitoring and reporting related to conditions and commitments detail the purpose of involvement, appropriate methods and ensure activities are completed to address the issue as they pertain to regulatory requirements and commitments.
• Triage and respond to Information Requests from external groups and work with the Environment teams to ensure commitment execution.
• Coordinate monitoring programs for DFO and SARA conditions including consultant oversight, field program coordination, data capture, and report review and submission.
• Support PCEM field program coordination and management.
