About The Position
A fast-paced, 17-day state-certified nurse aide training program. Applicants must bring a completed application, valid photo identification, and Social Security card to their interview. No absences or tardiness are permitted, and students must maintain an average grade of 85 to continue in the course. Students must purchase one set of scrubs to wear to class and clinical, as well as a book; further information is provided at the interview. The program conducts a criminal background check and consults the Tennessee and/or National Abuse Registry for Children and Adults. Applicants with a felony conviction, certain misdemeanor charges, or a record on the abuse registry cannot be admitted. Accepted candidates are notified by phone on or before the Friday before the class at 10:00 AM. Selection is based on facility need, candidate shift availability, entrance exam score, flexibility, previous work history, and attitude. Employment opportunities may be available after successful course completion.
