Student Ambassador (Student)
About The Position
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions seeks personable and informed American University undergraduate students to join its ambassador program and assist with recruitment efforts. Ambassadors are energetic students involved in campus activities, passionate about AU, and eager to share their experiences with varied audiences. The program aims to foster an inclusive community that recognizes diverse identities and interests. The primary role is to give four to five tours per week to prospective students and parents, offering an authentic glimpse of the AU experience through personal student experiences. Ambassadors also staff in-person and virtual admissions events and respond to prospective and admitted students’ questions about student life at AU. This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week, paying $18.40–$19.00 per hour. The position is restricted to enrolled American University undergraduate students.
Requirements
- Must be an enrolled American University undergraduate student.
- Submit schedule availability through the specified Google form; applicants who do not submit it will not be considered.

Responsibilities
- Give four to five tours per week to prospective students and parents, sharing personal experiences to provide an authentic view of AU.
- Staff in-person and virtual events, including admissions information sessions, Showcase AU, Preview Day, webinars, and other events.
- Correspond with prospective and admitted students by email or in person, answering questions about student life at AU.
