About The Position

The City of Scottsdale is seeking an experienced Streets Liquid Road Operator to join its newly established Liquid Road Pavement Preservation Program. This position serves as a senior field operator and technical resource responsible for supporting the successful delivery of pavement preservation treatments throughout the City. The successful candidate will operate specialized pavement preservation equipment, assist with field coordination, provide technical guidance to crew members, and help ensure quality, safety, and production standards are achieved. This position plays an important role in advancing Scottsdale's long-term pavement preservation goals while helping extend pavement life and maximize public infrastructure investments. Employees in this classification exercise independent judgment when diagnosing maintenance issues and determining appropriate repair methods and operate specialized street maintenance vehicles and equipment. Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $32.58/hour or $67,766.40/annually.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in asphalt pavement maintenance, or related street operations work
  • Possess, at time of application, and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 36 months prior to the start date
  • Possess at time of application, a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tank vehicle endorsement with no major citations within the past 36 months prior to the start date
  • Incumbents will be subject to unannounced drug and alcohol testing as required by law
  • Must obtain within six months of hire or promotion and maintain through tenure: Maricopa County Particulate Matter-10 (PM-10) Air Quality Standards Certification
  • Must obtain within six months of hire or promotion and maintain through tenure: ISSA Temporary Traffic Control Certification
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work
