About The Position

This is a front-end product strategy and planning role where you'll define what GenScript should build over the next 3–5 years by identifying unmet customer needs, evaluating emerging technologies, and shaping the future portfolio of life science research reagents. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background and industry experience in biotechnology or life sciences, combined with experience in product management, product strategy, or related roles. We are particularly interested in candidates who can leverage their scientific expertise and industry knowledge to drive product strategy and translate scientific insights into business and product opportunities.

Requirements

  • PhD preferred (Master’s degree with exceptional industry experience will also be highly considered) in: Biology / Cell Biology, Immunology, Protein Engineering / Antibody Engineering, Biochemistry / Bioengineering or related life science disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Build long-term product portfolio strategies across antibodies, recombinant proteins, enzymes, bioassays, protein purification products, Cell & Gene Therapy (GCT) reagents, and emerging technology platforms.
  • Pinpoint technology white spaces and unarticulated customer needs to establish a sustainable, high-margin product menu.
  • Formulate and maintain future product roadmaps aligned with global business unit growth objectives.
  • Transform scientific insights into commercial opportunities by deep-diving into customer workflows, Jobs-to-be-Done (JTBD), and Voice of the Customer (VOC).
  • Keep a pulse on emerging research trends, technology evolution, and the global competitive landscape to discover latent opportunities that customers have not yet articulated.
  • Evaluate future portfolio opportunities by integrating scientific feasibility, customer value, market potential, competitive differentiation, intellectual property (IP), and business economics.
  • Conduct thorough "Build vs. Buy vs. Partner" assessments to support annual strategic planning and executive innovation reviews.
  • Partner seamlessly with R&D, Marketing, Business Development, Commercial, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and QA/RA to transform raw ideas into high-impact product development programs.
  • Develop data-driven strategic recommendations and business cases to guide executive investment decisions.
