About The Position

The role focuses on strategic sales and managing customer relationships by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts within a specialized medical and radiation oncology environment. Professionals engage in face-to-face interactions, assess customer needs, and recommend solutions using both clinical understanding and commercial expertise. They develop and present proposals, build long-term strategic sales plans, and drive sustainable growth and diversification of accounts. The Strategic Account Director is the face of Elekta, responsible for full account management and the end-to-end sales process, including the coordination of Sales Specialists. The role requires the ability to engage credibly with clinical stakeholders, while ensuring delivery, installation, and contract execution processes are completed. Reporting to the Head of Sales, Canada, the role drives growth across existing and new accounts, including competitive sites, through a long-term, strategic approach to account development. Responsibilities include territory management, pipeline development, proposals, and representation at industry events. The role requires strong knowledge of Elekta’s solutions, including clinical applications in radiation oncology, to optimise installed base usage and support expansion. All activities must follow Elekta Sales Methodology and ensure accurate use of the CLM system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, Science or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in radiation oncology or oncology-related environment (required)
  • Significant experience in medical device or healthcare solutions industry
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sales management and long-term account development (not purely transactional sales)
  • Strong understanding of Canadian healthcare systems, particularly Québec and Ontario
  • Proven ability to engage clinical and executive stakeholders
  • Experience with complex solution selling and long sales cycles
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation
  • Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

  • Be the full account manager, leading the end-to-end selling process in a radiation oncology environment, coordinating all Elekta functions and Specialists
  • Develop targeted opportunities, manage sales interactions, and actively promote solutions using strategic and medical insight
  • Deliver an annual strategic territory plan with quarterly updates
  • Maintain consistent engagement across all accounts to support long-term growth and new opportunities
  • Ensure accurate and timely CLM documentation for pipeline and forecasting
  • Achieve sales targets with a focus on sustainable, value-based growth
  • Drive alignment with Elekta Sales Methodology and governance principles
  • Build strong understanding of customer needs, including clinical workflows in radiation oncology
  • Expand installed base utilisation and support adoption of new solutions
  • Promote and position solutions aligned with medical requirements and customer objectives
