Storefront Associate (Barista/Cashier/Fresh Bread) - East Hanover
About The Position
The Storefront Associate helps create an outstanding customer experience at 85°C Bakery Cafe by providing friendly, efficient service and supporting storefront operations. The role includes greeting guests and helping them select products, operating the point-of-sale system, preparing coffee, tea, and specialty beverages, and assisting with bread merchandising and product presentation. Associates maintain a clean, organized, food-safe workplace, collaborate with teammates and store leadership, and follow company policies and Health Department regulations. The position involves cross-training in cashier, bar, bread, and cake areas, and requires arriving on time and ready for scheduled shifts. The role is based in East Hanover, New Jersey, and is listed as full-time/part-time, with at least 20 hours of availability per week. Weekend availability is required in the job details; weekend and holiday availability is strongly preferred in the qualifications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to speak and understand conversational English.
- Availability to work at least 20 hours per week.
- Weekend availability required according to the job details; weekend and holiday availability is strongly preferred in the qualifications.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification where required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; perform repetitive hand movements and frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; and work in varying temperatures, including coolers and freezers.
