Storefront Associate (Barista/Cashier/Fresh Bread) - East Hanover
About The Position
The Storefront Associate creates an outstanding customer experience at 85°C Bakery Cafe by providing friendly, fast service and supporting bakery storefront operations. The role includes greeting guests and helping them select products, operating the point-of-sale system, preparing coffee, tea, and specialty beverages, and assisting with bread merchandising and product presentation. Associates maintain a clean, organized, food-safe work environment, collaborate with teammates and store leadership, and follow company policies and Health Department regulations. Team members are cross-trained in cashier, bar, bread, and cake areas and are expected to arrive on time and ready for scheduled shifts. The position is in East Hanover, New Jersey, offers full-time or part-time scheduling, and requires availability for at least 20 hours per week.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to speak and understand conversational English.
- Availability to work at least 20 hours per week.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification where required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform repetitive hand movements, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and squat frequently, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and work in varying temperatures including coolers and freezers.
