About The Position

Goodwill NCW is a nonprofit organization with 28 retail stores across north-central Wisconsin. Its mission is to elevate people by eliminating barriers to employment and to transform lives through skill building for sustained employment and improved financial stability.

The Store Supervisor provides oversight, guidance, and support to team members as directed by the Store Manager. The role supports store results through donation handling and processing, sales and production goals, team training and coaching, and effective management of retail activities. It also supports Goodwill NCW’s mission through employment and training of people with different abilities, and assists with recruiting, selecting, and onboarding team members in partnership with the Store Manager.

Work is performed primarily in a standard retail backroom or warehouse environment, with extensive team member contact and frequent interruptions. Accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Three or more years of leadership experience is preferred.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• At least basic competency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.
• Experience with reporting and dashboard tools.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ability to travel to other locations.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, evenings, and weekends, with regular and timely attendance in accordance with the assigned work schedule.
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, up to 8 hours.
• Ability to twist, lift, carry, push, or pull weights of 10 to 25 pounds independently, and use a team lift for objects over 25 pounds.
• Ability to reach approximately 54 inches and frequently stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch.
• Sufficient hand and finger dexterity to perform detailed tasks.
• Ability to verbally communicate and exchange information.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight, guidance, and support to team members as directed by the Store Manager.
• Ensure donations are properly handled and processed to meet production and sales goals.
• Use reports and lead team members through training, coaching, and skill development to achieve results.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Manage retail activities, including scheduling and opening and closing procedures, and ensure completion of the leader checklist.
• Support Goodwill NCW’s mission through employment and training of people with different abilities.
• Support recruitment by interviewing and selecting candidates aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
• Ensure successful onboarding for team members in partnership with the Store Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
