Store Shift Supervisor
About The Position
The Store Shift Supervisor at Pet Supplies Plus helps provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets while reinforcing store standards and daily operating routines. The role partners with store team leaders, provides leadership coverage when they are offsite, and may perform store team member duties when not acting as manager-on-duty or learning operational tasks. Responsibilities also include operational procedures, back-office tasks, recruiting, onboarding, team development, and communicating opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance. The supervisor must be willing to perform nail trims on pets.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of retail experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- Ability to operate store equipment, including a forklift.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must pass a drug screening where allowed by law.
- Must be 18 years or older.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, neighborly service to customers and their pets.
- Partner with store team leaders to learn and reinforce PSP standards and daily management routines.
- Provide leadership coverage and cover management functions up to four times a week when team leaders are offsite.
- Follow operational policies and procedures for cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security.
- Learn and perform back-office procedures, including making signs, updating price changes, and imputing cashier records.
- Participate in store recruiting, onboarding, and team member development.
- Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to team leaders.
- Perform store team member duties when not acting as manager-on-duty or learning operational tasks.
- Perform nail trims on pets.
