About The Position

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for store operations and, in most cases, acts as Manager on Duty. The position takes direction from the Store Manager and makes key decisions about store resources and operational matters. It has direct supervisory responsibilities across multiple aspects of the store and ensures associates work safely, efficiently, and productively. The role executes merchandising plans, maintains in-stock conditions, supports customer service, oversees work assignments and departmental procedures, and ensures compliance with company policies, labor laws, safety requirements, and applicable pricing and weights-and-measures laws. The Shift Supervisor also conducts daily walks of the store and exterior property to identify opportunities, provide direction and feedback, and remain accessible to associates and customers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or two years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Act as Manager on Duty in most cases and perform functions necessary for successful store operation.
Take direction from the Store Manager and make key decisions about store resources and operational matters.
Execute merchandising plans and maintain in-stock conditions throughout the stores.
Communicate with customers and provide feedback and service results to associates to drive engagement.
Resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
Oversee work assignments to make effective use of associates’ talents and abilities while maximizing profits.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, including lunch breaks and minor scheduling restrictions.
Oversee departmental procedures for receiving, producing, and replenishing merchandise, including checking delivered products, pricing accuracy, freshness, quality, and product rotation.
Ensure required logs are maintained according to company policy.
Ensure associates work safely and operate equipment safely, comply with OSHA requirements, and follow price accuracy and weights-and-measures laws.
Conduct daily walks of the entire store and exterior property to identify successes and opportunities, provide direction and feedback, and remain visible and accessible to associates and customers.
Support and execute company programs to achieve desired business results.
Ensure company policies are communicated to, understood, and followed by associates.
Supervise multiple aspects of store operations and ensure associates work safely, efficiently, and productively.
