About The Position

The Shift Supervisor oversees store operations and, in most cases, serves as Manager on Duty, performing functions needed for successful store operation. The supervisor takes direction from the Store Manager and makes key decisions concerning store resources and operations. The position has direct supervisory responsibilities across multiple aspects of the store and ensures associates work safely, efficiently, and productively.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree or two years of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as Manager on Duty in most cases and perform functions needed for successful store operation.
• Take direction from the Store Manager and make key decisions about store resources and operations.
• Execute merchandising plans and maintain in-stock conditions throughout the store.
• Communicate with customers, provide feedback and service results to associates, and resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
• Oversee work assignments to make effective use of associates' talents and abilities while maximizing profits.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, including lunch breaks and restrictions on scheduling minors.
• Oversee procedures for receiving, producing, and replenishing merchandise, including product inspection, pricing accuracy, freshness, quality, and rotation.
• Ensure required logs are maintained according to company policy.
• Ensure associates work safely and operate equipment safely, comply with OSHA requirements, and follow price accuracy and weights-and-measures laws.
• Conduct daily walks of the entire store and exterior property to identify successes and opportunities, provide direction and feedback, and remain visible and accessible to associates and customers.
• Support and execute company programs to achieve desired business results.
• Communicate company policies to associates and ensure they understand and follow them.
• Ensure associates work safely, efficiently, and productively.
