About The Position

The Seasonal Store Sales Associate sells Deseret Book products and services while providing exceptional customer service. The role also assists customers with purchases and orders, maintains store appearance and organization, and helps present merchandise. The position is seasonal and part-time, based at the Valley Fair store in West Valley City, Utah, and requires working a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, Saturdays, and holidays other than Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Associates must be able to work through the holiday season.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to interact with customers in person and over the phone on a day-to-day basis.
Good team skills.
Self-motivated.
Ability to hear, understand, and respond to customers and associates.
Ability to locate and identify products for customers.
Ability to regularly lift 20 pounds and occasionally lift 35–50 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, Saturdays, and holidays other than Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Responsibilities

Sell Deseret Book products and services while providing exceptional customer service.
Assist customers by operating cash registers, locating products, taking orders, imprinting items, and gift-wrapping.
Maintain store appearance and organization by stocking shelves, unpacking merchandise shipments, and assisting with merchandise presentation.
Interact with customers in person and over the phone.
Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, Saturdays, and eligible holidays.
Work through the holiday season.
