About The Position

Deseret Book is a mission-driven company and a trusted gathering place for thoughtful expressions of faith. The Seasonal Store Sales Associate sells Deseret Book products and services while providing exceptional customer service. The role is based at the Phoenix, Arizona store and is seasonal and part-time, paying $16.60 per hour. The position starts immediately and requires working through the holiday season. Shifts may include days, evenings, Saturdays, and holidays, except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. The store is closed Sundays.

Requirements

Ability to interact with customers in person and over the phone on a day-to-day basis.
Excellent customer service skills.
Good team skills.
Self-motivated.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, Saturdays, and holidays except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Ability to hear, understand, and respond to customers and associates.
Ability to locate and identify products for customers.
Ability to regularly lift 20 pounds and occasionally lift 35–50 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to work through the holiday season.

Nice To Haves

Good product knowledge is preferred.
Computer skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

Sell Deseret Book products and services while providing exceptional customer service.
Assist customers by operating cash registers, locating products, taking orders, imprinting, and gift-wrapping.
Maintain store appearance and organization by stocking shelves, unpacking merchandise shipments, and assisting with merchandise presentation.
