About The Position

Deseret Book is a mission-driven company that creates and curates stories, questions, and beauty to improve the lives of individuals and families in their faith journeys. Its team emphasizes collaboration, personal accountability, and meeting community needs. The Store Sales Associate provides sales and customer service for Deseret Book products and services. The role also helps customers with purchases and orders, supports store operations and merchandise presentation, and works a variety of shifts through the holiday season. The position is seasonal and part-time at the American Fork, Utah store, at $14.55 per hour, with an immediate start date.

Requirements

Ability to interact with customers in person and over the phone on a day-to-day basis.
Excellent customer service skills.
Good team skills.
Self-motivated.
Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, Saturdays, and holidays, except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Ability to hear, understand, and respond to customers and associates.
Ability to locate and identify products for customers.
Ability to regularly lift 20 pounds and occasionally lift 35–50 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to work through the holiday season.

Responsibilities

Sell Deseret Book products and services while providing exceptional customer service.
Assist customers by operating cash registers, locating products, taking orders, imprinting, and gift-wrapping.
Maintain store appearance and organization by stocking shelves, unpacking merchandise shipments, and assisting with merchandise presentation.
Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, Saturdays, and holidays, except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Work through the holiday season.
