About The Position

The Store Manager is responsible for the daily operations of a retail store, ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, team training and development, human resources management, and outstanding customer service. This posting covers Store Manager positions at DTLR locations throughout Central Pennsylvania. The role requires working across multiple stores in the assigned district. A standard work week is a minimum of 46 hours, with a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

At least one year of retail management experience.
Solid knowledge of business and excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
Ability to think strategically and plan and organize effectively.
Professionalism in all situations.
Proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results-driven, with critical and creative thinking skills; project management, time management, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and use independent judgment, compassion, and diplomacy.
Ability to plan, organize, multitask, set priorities, and respond proactively to changing demands from multiple sources.
Ability to execute directives with precision and consistency.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee the quality and performance of retail store staff.
Analyze and measure business trends to maximize revenue and control costs at or better than plan.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Model effective leadership to gain commitment to store goals and training standards.
Recruit, select, train, and develop store personnel.
Conduct annual performance evaluations for all store employees.
Manage expenses and develop strategies to keep stores performing in accordance with budget.
Monitor and identify loss or inconsistencies in the store to achieve shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Identify market conditions and merchandise opportunities, and communicate relevant information to the District Manager to maximize goals and objectives.
Uphold customer service standards and provide a friendly environment so each customer receives outstanding service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
