About The Position

The Store Manager in Training participates in on-the-job training to learn to manage the profitable operations of an assigned Dollar Tree store. The role maintains high standards for merchandising, product placement, store signage, and display techniques to create an inviting customer environment. It also involves leading associates, overseeing daily store activities, ensuring compliance with laws and company procedures, and supporting store profitability and customer service.

Requirements

Strong productivity management in freight processing.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Minimum 3 years of prior retail management experience is preferred.
Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise is preferred; BIG BOX experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Recruit and hire store associates.
Train, coach, and develop associates in store operations and merchandising, correcting performance when appropriate.
Oversee and delegate store activities to support smooth daily operations.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Implement operational and merchandising direction from corporate headquarters.
Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
Protect company assets.
Maintain a high level of customer service across the store.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment and maintain professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain high standards for merchandising, product placement, store signage, and displays.
