About The Position

The Store Manager in Training participates in on-the-job training to learn to manage the profitable operations of an assigned Dollar Tree store. The role maintains high standards for merchandising, product placement, and store signage, and uses proper display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers. It also oversees daily store operations, develops associates, supports customer service, and helps the store achieve its maximum profit contribution.

Requirements

Strong productivity management in freight processing.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 years of prior retail management experience is preferred.
Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise is preferred; BIG BOX experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Recruit and hire store associates.
Train, coach, and develop associates in operations and merchandising, providing corrections when appropriate.
Oversee and delegate store activities to support smooth daily operations.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Implement operational and merchandising direction from corporate headquarters.
Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
Protect company assets.
Maintain a high level of customer service across the store.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
