About The Position

The Store Manager in Training participates in on-the-job training to learn to manage the profitable operations of an assigned Dollar Tree store. The role maintains high standards for merchandising, product placement, and store signage, and uses proper display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers. The position oversees store activities, develops associates, supports sales and profitability, protects company assets, and promotes a safe, positive, and respectful environment for customers and employees.

Requirements

• Strong productivity management in freight processing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 3 years of prior retail management experience is preferred.
• Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise is preferred; BIG BOX experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and hire store associates to serve customers.
• Train, coach, and develop associates in store operations and merchandising, correcting performance when appropriate.
• Oversee and delegate store activities to support smooth daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated by corporate headquarters.
• Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
• Protect company assets.
• Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the store.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and interact professionally and courteously with customers, associates, and leaders.
