Store Manager - Bench
About The Position
As a Store Manager in Training at Dollar Tree, you will participate in on-the-job training to learn how to manage the profitable operations of your assigned store. You will maintain high standards for merchandising, placement, and store signage, and use proper display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers. The role involves leading store associates, overseeing daily operations, implementing direction from corporate headquarters, protecting company assets, and maintaining strong customer service and a safe, respectful store environment. The position is full-time and located at 1010 E State Road 44, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
Requirements
- Strong productivity management in freight processing.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
- Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 3 years of prior retail management experience is preferred.
- Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise is preferred; BIG BOX experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and hire store associates to serve customers.
- Train, coach, and support associates in operations and merchandising, addressing performance when appropriate.
- Oversee and delegate store activities to support smooth daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Implement operational and merchandising direction from corporate headquarters.
- Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
- Protect company assets.
- Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the store.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
