About The Position
The Store Manager in Training participates in on-the-job training to learn how to manage the profitable operations of an assigned Dollar Tree store. The role maintains high standards for merchandising, product placement, and store signage, and uses proper display techniques to create an inviting customer atmosphere. The Store Manager is responsible for recruiting and developing associates, overseeing daily store activities, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies, implementing corporate direction, supporting profitability, protecting company assets, and maintaining excellent customer service and a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
Requirements
- Strong productivity management in freight processing.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
- Ability to lift 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 3 years of prior retail management experience is preferred.
- Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise is preferred; BIG BOX experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and hire store associates to serve customers.
- Train, coach, correct, and support associates’ growth and development in store operations and merchandising.
- Oversee and delegate store activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Implement operational and merchandising direction from corporate headquarters.
- Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
- Protect company assets.
- Maintain a high level of customer service across the store.
- Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment and maintain professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
