About The Position

The Store Manager is responsible for managing store employees and planning and implementing store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing, and support. The role ensures that the store is properly staffed, opened and closed effectively, and operates in accordance with Company policies and procedures. The Store Manager leads customer service, inventory management, merchandising, cash control, safety, and administrative activities.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including percentages.
Knowledge of cash-handling procedures, cashier accountability, and deposit control.
Ability to perform cash-register functions and generate reports.
Knowledge of inventory-management and merchandising practices.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices, including legal compliance and internal processes.
Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety-control policies and practices, including deposits and store keys.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to solve problems and handle a variety of situations.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees in accordance with labor laws and Company policies, and ensure the store is properly staffed.
Train employees, conduct performance evaluations, address performance gaps through appropriate solutions or counseling, and recommend termination when warranted.
Recommend employee pay rates and advancement.
Regularly communicate performance, conduct, and safety expectations and coordinate meetings and events supporting safety, security, and policy compliance.
Ensure the store is effectively opened and closed each day; personally open at least twice per week and close at least twice per week.
Review operating statements to identify business trends, expense-control opportunities, potential shrink, and errors.
Order merchandise to meet or exceed in-stock targets; review ordering plans, seasonal direction, and inventory issues weekly; follow up on Basic Stock Replenishment and cycle counts.
Ensure merchandise is staged, stocked, and stored efficiently in accordance with Company processes.
Ensure merchandise presentation, fixtures, pricing, and signage follow established practices.
Maintain accurate inventory by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
Protect the store’s financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, security practices, and cash-control procedures.
Provide leadership in delivering superior customer service.
Maintain a clean, organized store and a safe, secure working and shopping environment.
Ensure the store has the tools needed to perform required tasks.
Follow Company policies and procedures and ensure employee compliance.
Complete paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
