About The Position

The Store Manager oversees the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations with limited direct supervision. The role is responsible for maintaining high cleanliness standards, financial accuracy through effective reporting and controls, and operational excellence. Store Managers build customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, present a structured sales process, and manage customer accounts.

Extra Space Storage is the largest self-storage company in the United States by store count, with over 4,000 stores nationwide. The company seeks responsible, passionate, and innovative leaders to take charge of day-to-day operations at its self-storage facilities.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of customer-facing work experience.
• A current valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness through continuous site maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, and grounds maintenance of the office, storage building, and surrounding areas.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Oversee administrative tasks, including maintaining auction files, following up on delinquent accounts, monitoring store budgets, and preparing and delivering bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees to support the company culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
