Store Leader (Manager) Trainee
About The Position
The Store Leader is the heart and soul of the store and, with one or more Assistant Store Leaders, makes up the store’s leadership team. The role executes merchandising and marketing initiatives, drives profitability, develops the skills of the store team, and ensures customers are well taken care of. The Store Leader Trainee role is intended for candidates interested in working as part of a management team who have previous supervisory experience. Training is provided to help employees deliver excellent customer service and learn the business, with advancement opportunities through the company’s promote-from-within philosophy.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Ability to oversee and provide customer service leadership, training, and coaching.
- Ability to manage cash handling, fuel transactions, and rewards loyalty program promotion.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer knowledge; Microsoft Word and Excel are preferred.
- Valid driver’s license from the state of residence and maintenance of automotive liability insurance during employment.
- Ability to multitask, perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required for candidates with at least one year of retail management experience.

Responsibilities
- Oversee and provide customer service leadership, training, and coaching for all store employees.
- Support employee retention by identifying qualified applicants, developing leaders, empowering employees, and encouraging productivity.
- Oversee and implement merchandising and marketing programs.
- Use profit-and-loss information and store reports to affect change.
- Manage cash handling and fuel transactions, and promote the rewards loyalty program.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following health and sanitation procedures and ensuring the store is presentable and products are in stock.
