About The Position

The Store Environment Team Member maintains the store’s overall appearance, cleanliness, and recovery standards to deliver the company’s Brand Promises. The role also includes providing friendly customer service and helping customers find what they need. Team members clean assigned areas, maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, and complete tasks in accordance with approved procedures and applicable federal, state, and county guidelines. They are expected to take initiative, complete supervisor-assigned work, and interact positively and respectfully with customers and colleagues. Other duties, as assigned, may include checkout and cash handling, promoting rewards programs and private-label credit cards, assisting with Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship from Store processes, truck unloading, stocking, planogram work, and supporting shrink and safety programs. The position is based in a public retail store. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Must satisfy applicable federal, state, and local legal requirements for the job.
Ability to remain standing for long periods.
Ability to move throughout the store.
Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly.
Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

Maintain the store’s overall look, cleanliness, and recovery standards.
Provide friendly customer service and help customers shop and find products.
Collect and dispose of trash according to approved procedures.
Dust and damp mop floors according to approved procedures.
Move equipment and products to clean properly, then return products to their correct placement.
Clean assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment.
Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications when required.
Deep clean areas such as bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways, and other high-traffic areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly and notify a supervisor in advance when supplies need replenishment.
Identify areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete the work.
Complete tasks assigned by a supervisor.
Perform tasks in accordance with applicable federal, state, and county guidelines.
Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers, including in difficult situations.
Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.
As assigned, provide a fast and friendly checkout experience and handle cash according to standards.
As assigned, explain the benefits of rewards programs and private-label credit cards and complete enrollments.
As assigned, assist with omnichannel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
As assigned, participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes.
Support shrink and safety programs.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures and company programs, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
