About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk to provide excellent customer service and support store operations. The role includes cash handling and accounting; stocking, pricing, rotating, and displaying merchandise; maintaining cleanliness and safety inside and outside the store; store security; and deli food sales and cooking. The listed schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., at $16 per hour. Store Clerks operate computerized cash registers, assist customers, maintain merchandise and food-service areas, complete shift and vendor procedures, monitor store security, and perform outdoor upkeep and other duties assigned by management. Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and handle cash and accounting tasks.
Operate a computerized cash register; give correct change; scan credit cards; accept and process checks; and bag merchandise.
Remember regular customers, answer and screen phone calls, police the store, detect shoplifters, and listen to and handle customer complaints.
Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise; and complete shift work accurately and effectively.
Clean and maintain all areas of the store, including housekeeping inside and outside the store.
Complete vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and “drive off” controls.
Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Keep hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
