About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk. The role is accountable for customer service, cash handling and accounting, merchandising, housekeeping, store safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. Store Clerks operate computerized registers, assist customers, stock and maintain merchandise and store areas, complete shift and vendor procedures, and perform other duties assigned by management. At smaller locations, the Store Clerk also performs deli duties described in the deli job description.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
Handle cash and accounting, operate a computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
Remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, police the store, detect shoplifters, and report situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance to the store manager.
Stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise; stock shelves and coolers.
Complete shift work accurately and effectively, vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and “drive off” controls.
Clean and maintain all areas inside and outside the store, including sweeping the lot, shoveling snow, cleaning gas pumps, and filling water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Keep hot dog rollers, nacho and popcorn machines, the condiment center, coffee area, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform deli food sales and cooking, including all deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
