About The Position

The Store Clerk assists customers with selecting and purchasing items. The role includes stocking, arranging, displaying, rotating, and returning merchandise such as furniture, bric-a-brac, books, and clothing. The clerk performs routine security activities while observing customers, may help move donations to storage and prepare donation receipts, and carries out cleaning tasks throughout the store. The position also answers store telephone calls tactfully and courteously.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Retail store experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist store customers in selecting and purchasing items.
• Stock, arrange, and display furniture, bric-a-brac, books, clothes, and other similar products.
• Rotate and rearrange stock as needed and return items to their proper locations.
• Perform routine security activities while observing customers shopping in the store.
• May assist with moving donations to the storage area and prepare and provide donation receipts.
• Clean display racks, shelves, windows, mirrors, and storage areas; sweep and mop floors; and clean other areas as needed.
• Answer the store telephone in a tactful and courteous manner.
