About The Position

The Store Clerk assists customers with selecting and purchasing items and helps maintain store merchandise and displays. The role also includes routine security observation, donation-related tasks, store cleaning, and answering the telephone.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience working in a retail store preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist store customers in selecting and purchasing items.
• Stock, arrange, and display furniture, bric-a-brac, books, clothes, and other similar products.
• Rotate or rearrange stock as needed and return items to their proper locations.
• Perform routine security activities by observing customers shopping in the store.
• Assist with moving donations to the storage area and prepare and provide donation receipts.
• Clean display racks, shelves, windows, mirrors, and storage areas; sweep and mop floors; and clean other areas as needed.
• Answer the store telephone in a tactful and courteous manner.
