About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk. The role is accountable for customer service, cash handling and accounting, merchandise stocking and presentation, housekeeping, store safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. Store Clerks also perform assigned duties to support store operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
• Operate the computerized cash register; give correct change; scan credit cards; accept and process checks; and bag merchandise.
• Remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, detect shoplifters, and support store security.
• Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise; and complete shift work accurately.
• Clean and maintain all areas inside and outside the store, including sweeping the lot, shoveling snow, cleaning gas pumps, and filling water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
• Complete vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and “drive off” controls.
• Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
• Keep hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, the condiment center, coffee, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
• Perform deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
