About The Position

The Security Officer for ParkX Management ensures that the facility is run smoothly, safely, and cleanly, while providing a good experience for residents, tenants, and guests. The position is scheduled part-time on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The role includes property patrols, access control, safety observation and reporting, enforcement of property rules, and communication with guests and management. At Reston and Loudoun Station, the officer assists the Marketing team with events as needed. At Reston Station, the officer also manages valet operations and plaza traffic and ensures event marketing plans are followed.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Certification as a security officer by the state of Virginia.
• At least 1 year of experience in a customer-service-related field.
• Valid driver's license without major violations.
• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed.
• Outgoing personality and ability to relate to diverse groups of people and build and maintain strong relationships.

Responsibilities

• Complete an hourly patrol route of the property using the security system.
• Control access for guests, tenants, and vendors.
• Ensure property is not damaged.
• Conduct routine foot patrols in and around the building.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Observe and report safety concerns.
• Issue banning notices to rule violators, maintain a file of notices, and notify management when necessary.
• Maintain the appearance of the two plaza kiosks.
• Enforce the no-dogs-on-the-plaza policy.
• Keep information such as Kiss N Ride details, contact phone numbers, and rules of conduct updated, and communicate it to guests as needed.
• Report unknown work occurring at the property to management.
• Immediately notify ParkX, Commercial Property Management, and Residential Property Management if anyone parks illegally on the plaza.
• Tell guests that fire access areas must remain accessible for fire trucks and ambulances.
• Close loading dock doors as needed.
• Report concerns to management.
• Assist the Marketing team before, during, and after events at Reston and Loudoun Station as needed.
• At Reston Station, manage the valet and ensure cars are not parked on the plaza or down ramp.
• At Reston Station, ensure the plaza marketing plan is followed for special events.
• At Reston Station, manage traffic coming onto the plaza and keep it moving.
