About The Position
The Store Clerk reports directly to the Store Manager and indirectly to the Assistant Store Managers and Shift Leaders. The position performs cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and monitoring of perishable products while providing excellent customer service and helping maintain excellent daily store conditions.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to regularly lift 30 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven, efficient retail sales experience.
- Experience in dry grocery, perishable products, meat, general grocery, cash management, and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Operate a cash register efficiently and perform checkout procedures at or above expected standards, including transaction speed and accurate handling and counting of cash, EBT, debit and credit cards, WIC vouchers, gift cards, coupons, and checks.
- Follow all checkout and cash-handling procedures and policies.
- Meet or exceed standards for handling, stocking, and maintaining grocery, frozen, dairy, smoked meat, and other perishable products.
- Stock products on platforms, shelving, peg hooks, in baskets, and in refrigerated cases as needed.
- Use powered and non-powered equipment and hand tools to move stock after receiving proper training.
- Provide excellent customer service and help maintain excellent daily store conditions.
