About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk to provide excellent customer service and support store operations. The role includes cash handling and accounting; stocking, pricing, rotating, and displaying merchandise; maintaining cleanliness inside and outside the store; supporting store safety and security; and selling and preparing deli food. Store Clerks operate the computerized register, handle payments and merchandise, assist customers, maintain store and food-service areas, complete shift and vendor procedures, and perform outdoor upkeep and other duties assigned by management. At smaller locations, the role includes all deli duties described in the deli job description.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service.
Handle cash and accounting.
Stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise.
Maintain housekeeping inside and outside the store, and support store safety and security.
Sell and cook deli food; perform all deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
Operate a computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
Recognize regular customers, answer and screen phone calls, police the store, detect shoplifters, and listen to and handle customer complaints.
Stock shelves and coolers, complete shift work accurately and effectively, clean and maintain all store areas, and complete vendor check-in procedures.
Complete the protocol system and drive-off controls, and advise the store manager about situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
Keep the hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee area, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
