About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk to provide excellent customer service and support store operations. The role includes cash handling and accounting; stocking, pricing, rotating, and displaying merchandise; maintaining store cleanliness and safety; and selling and preparing deli food. Store Clerks operate cash-register equipment, assist customers, complete shift and vendor procedures, maintain food-service areas, and perform outdoor cleaning and maintenance. Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
• Handle cash and accounting tasks; operate a computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, process checks, and bag merchandise.
• Stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise, including stocking shelves and coolers.
• Complete shift work accurately and effectively, vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and drive-off controls.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety, and security inside and outside the store; police the store and detect shoplifters.
• Remember regular customers’ names and faces, and answer and screen phone calls.
• Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
• Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets on islands.
• Keep hot dog rollers, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment centers, coffee, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
• Perform deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
