About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated, outgoing Store Clerk to provide customer service and support store operations. The role involves cash handling and accounting, merchandise stocking and presentation, housekeeping, store safety and security, and deli food sales and cooking. Store Clerks also maintain indoor and outdoor areas, perform assigned shift work, and carry out other duties assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and handle cash and accounting tasks.
• Operate the computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
• Stock, price, rotate, and display merchandise, including shelves and coolers.
• Remember regular customers’ names and faces; answer and screen phone calls; monitor the store, detect shoplifting, and handle customer complaints.
• Complete shift work, vendor check-in procedures, the protocol system, and drive-off controls.
• Clean and maintain all areas inside and outside the store, including the lot, gas pumps, and island water and cleaning-solution buckets; shovel snow as needed.
• Maintain clean, filled, and stocked hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee, and fountain dispenser areas.
• Follow store safety and security practices and advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect operating performance.
• Perform deli duties at smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
