About The Position

The Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe HomeGoods store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-cleaning equipment and cleaning floors, glass, windows, and other store areas. The associate also supports customer experience, store recovery, merchandising standards, loss prevention, and coverage needs across multiple store areas. The position requires cross-training and flexibility to support changing business needs, while following company policies, safety requirements, labor laws, and operational standards.

• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.

• Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
• Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
• Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
• Cross-train in other store areas, such as the backroom, front end, and sales floor, to support business needs.
• Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
• Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss-prevention controls, including shrink-reduction guidelines and policies.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
