About The Position

The Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and performing cleaning tasks throughout the store while adhering to operational, merchandise, health and safety, and loss-prevention standards. Associates are cross-trained in multiple store areas and help meet business and Front End coverage needs. The role models positive customer experience practices and supports a store culture grounded in honesty, integrity, and respect. It also involves maintaining store recovery and organization throughout the day, communicating effectively with management and Associates, and following company policies, labor laws, and meal and break requirements. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately.
Ability to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain the floor scrubber and buffer; perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning of glass and windows.
Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards and cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor, to support business needs.
Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
Follow the merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink-reduction practices.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including Associate meal and break policies.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Model customer experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Perform other duties as assigned.
