About The Position

The Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe HomeGoods store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and cleaning areas throughout the store, while upholding operational, merchandising, loss-prevention, health, and safety standards. Associates are cross-trained in multiple store areas and help meet business needs, including front-end coverage and store recovery. The associate models positive customer-service practices and contributes to a store culture grounded in honesty, integrity, and respect.

Requirements

• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
• Clean floors and surfaces by dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
• Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
• Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor, to support business needs.
• Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
• Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink-reduction practices.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
