About The Position

The Store Cashier provides excellent customer service while operating a cash register. The role includes processing sales transactions, greeting and assisting customers and donors, and helping maintain an orderly register area. Cashiers may also support sales-floor employees with stocking and recovery.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school education or equivalent is preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Beginner-level knowledge of touch-screen cash registers.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail and/or cashiering experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers courteously, professionally, and in a friendly manner.
• Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service.
• Direct customers to the appropriate area and provide general information as requested.
• Enter sales transactions into the cash register and complete sales.
• Provide customers with the correct change and receipt.
• Follow procedures for cash, check, and charge-card transactions, voids, gift cards, and the change Round Up program.
• Keep the register area clean and orderly.
• Answer telephone calls promptly using established telephone etiquette.
• Assist sales-floor employees with stocking and recovery.
