About The Position

At Goodwill Industries of Central Florida, the Store Cashier provides excellent customer service while operating a cash register. The role includes processing sales transactions, greeting and assisting customers and donors, and supporting sales floor employees with stocking and recovery.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Basic computer skills and beginner knowledge of touch-screen cash registers.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.

Nice To Haves

• High school education or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail and/or cashiering experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet each customer courteously, professionally, and in a friendly manner.
• Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service.
• Direct customers to the proper area and provide general information when requested.
• Ring up and complete sales transactions in the cash register.
• Ensure customers receive the correct change and receipt.
• Follow policies and procedures for cash, check, charge card, void, gift card, and Round Up program transactions.
• Keep the register area clean and orderly.
• Answer telephone calls promptly using established etiquette procedures.
• Assist sales floor employees with stocking and recovery.
