About The Position

The Store Cashier provides excellent customer service while operating a cash register. The role includes processing sales transactions, greeting and assisting customers and donors, and helping maintain the store’s sales floor. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic computer skills.
• Beginner knowledge of touch-screen cash registers.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.

Nice To Haves

• High school education or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail and/or cashiering experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers courteously, professionally, and in a friendly manner.
• Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service.
• Direct customers to the appropriate area and provide general information when requested.
• Ring up sales transactions and complete sales using the cash register.
• Provide customers with the correct change and receipt.
• Follow policies and procedures for cash, check, and charge card transactions, voids, gift cards, and the Change Round Up program.
• Keep the register area clean and orderly.
• Answer telephone calls promptly using established telephone etiquette.
• Assist sales floor employees with stocking and recovery.
