About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time cashiers and stockers who help maintain smooth store operations and provide an excellent customer shopping experience. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service, while stockers keep shelves and displays stocked and organized. The role supports store management in meeting operational efficiency and total loss goals, maintaining store and merchandising standards, following inventory and product-handling procedures, and keeping the store clean and safe. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $18.50 per hour. Listed wage increases are $19.00 in Year 2, $19.50 in Year 3, $19.50 in Year 4, and $20.50 in Year 5. Duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks productively within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Stockers must be able to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m.
Ability to perform the described physical demands, including lifting and placing product weighing up to 45 pounds and working in freezer and cooler environments.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zones and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product-handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process customer purchases, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the line policy and open additional checkout lanes as needed.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving items, verifying order contents, and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Operate store equipment as required, including a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler.
