Part-Time Store Cashier/Stocker

About The Position

ALDI is hiring enthusiastic part-time cashiers and stockers. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service, while stockers keep shelves stocked and organized to support a positive shopping experience. Both roles contribute to smooth store operations and excellent customer service. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $19.50 per hour. Wage increases are listed as $20.00 in Year 2, $20.50 in Year 3, $20.50 in Year 4, and $21.50 in Year 5. Employees model customer service principles, support store management in meeting operational efficiency and total loss goals, follow company policies and processes, help maintain a safe workplace, uphold store and merchandising standards, follow inventory and product handling procedures, and perform general cleaning. Cashiers use the point-of-sale system to process purchases accurately, follow cash and checkout-lane procedures, and fulfill curbside pickup orders. Stockers arrange products according to merchandising planograms and must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance and meet availability requirements.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to work with equipment such as cash registers, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Ability to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.
Stockers must be able to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service, and escalate customer concerns to store management as needed.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in working order.
Maintain store zones and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process customer purchases accurately, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures, observe the checkout line policy, and open additional checkout lanes as needed.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them to customers' vehicles from the staging area.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
