Part-Time Store Cashier/Stocker

About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time cashiers and stockers. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service, while stockers keep shelves stocked and organized. Both roles help maintain smooth store operations and deliver a positive customer shopping experience. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $18.00 per hour, with stated wage increases in subsequent years. Employees perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Responsibilities include supporting customer service and store operations, following company policies and procedures, maintaining store and merchandising standards, handling inventory and products appropriately, helping ensure a safe work environment, and completing general cleaning. Cashier duties include using the point-of-sale system, following cash and checkout procedures, opening additional lanes as needed, and fulfilling curbside pickup orders. Stocker duties include neatly stocking shelves and displays according to merchandising planograms. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at varying heights, including overhead.
Ability to work with equipment such as cash registers, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Ability to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Support a safe working environment by identifying and addressing hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zone and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional lanes as needed.
Retrieve, verify, and timely deliver curbside pickup orders to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
